MOON - JUPITER Occultation
The day was fantastic with clear
blue sky all day. A little cloud started to roll in from the west and a
little haze from the east. Managed a few scenic shots as the Moon was rising
and Jupiter was getting close enough to become exciting. The next shots
were taken through thick cloud bands and shortly after it was total cloud
cover for the night. A couple of images with the Nikon zoom at 200mm and
a couple through the 10" scope.
A huge amount of preparation without
the desired result! Ah well, that's astronomy sometimes. The thickness of
cloud is inversely proportional to the rarity of the event- the rarer the
event - more cloud!!
