Light Pollution

There are times when we desire to be kept in the dark!

For most people on earth, the dark skies our ancestors had have now disappeared.
The problem is urban sky glow, due mostly to too much bad lighting.
Light Pollution is a growing threat to the nighttime environment.

The components of light pollution include:

   1. Glare, blinding us and harming visibility. Glare is never good.
   2. Light Trespass, someone's outdoor lights offending us, "trespassing" on our land.
   3. Clutter, trashing the nighttime environment, causing visual confusion as well.
   4. Energy waste, costing millions of  Dollars a year in this country alone.
   5. Urban sky glow, which is destroying mankind's view of the universe.
.
There are solutions to all these problems. Good quality lighting is the key.
The solutions preserve the dark skies for all of us, improve the quality of nighttime lighting (better visibility, better safety and security, more attractive surroundings), and save money as well, for we use light rather than waste it.
