right hand side Moon photographed in Jan' '09 May Full Moon was furthest
away from Earth Moon for 2008....astronomically termed Apogee... approximately
406403 kms away from Earth January Full Moon was closest for 2009 ....astronomically
termed Perigee... approximately 357497kms away from Earth 48906kms the difference
and approximately 14% apparently larger in January. On average, the Moon
is at a distance of about 385,000 km from the center of the Earth. The Moon
has an elliptical orbit making this responsible for the apparent size difference.
