Due to Tasmania only getting the initial phases of the Lunar Eclipse (Earth's shadow on the Moon - red colour caused by Earth's atmosphere projecting onto the Moon) we did not get much viewing time before the moon set - but I have chosen this image below because of it's interesting qualities even though the actual eclipsed Moon is deliberately way out of focus. I
have to be thankful of the clear days we have been having lately to even
be able to see this event.
The
hydro pole is about 100 metres away.
Photo
taken with 900mm focal length Refracting telescope at about 6:30am.
